Shift with Trust

Dog training is as much about you as it is about your dog.

How can it not be.

You desire a different way of living life with your best friend, but didn’t know establishing a trusting and loving relationship with him was the essence of everything you did with your dog.

You “understand” how dogs emotionally experience the world, but you didn’t experience how this was going to stir things up in you too.

You persistence in unlearning old beliefs that dogs need to be controlled or dominated and you need to be the boss doesn’t resonate, but you’re left wondering, what does it look like now?

You get to create the new understanding, the new way of living life with your dog.

You also get the opportunity to grow and expand out of old patterns and into your truest self.

Our dogs are wonderful teachers, if we choose to be present with them, be curious and trust the choices you make to help your dog will be successful because you are now prioritizing your values.

The life you create with your dog is born out of your truth and understanding.

A wonderful woman who received some coaching support from me shared her biggest takeaways on her dog’s Tank’s birthday.

“I love just that…..the questions you ask really dig deep.

You’ve taught me, it’s not about “fixing” the dog or their behavior, but understanding how I feel in those moments and what is motivating the dog at those moments of challenge.

You’ve taught me to advocate for Tank and not to be apologetic for the pup he is.

The breathing technique and saying a prayer before walks with Tank. Still doing that.

You also helped when Tank was crazy with us outside…you advised utilizing what we did inside, outside. Having little stations for him.

I know that’s a lot to see…you helped us ALOT.” Y.G.

Your focus may be on your dog changing, but if you’re open and willing to see how you can grow with your dog, I’m curious to know what your life can look like with this new filter.

Happy Birthday Tank!
