You read all the books about understanding the emotional lives of dogs and the impact on the bond with humans.
Books like:
“Dog is Love”
“The Other End of the Leash”
Reading books and watching how to videos on learning a skill is a wonderful first step.
Your exposure to this new way of life gets you excited.
But you’ve hit a roadblock.
Your gremlin shows up and tells you “this isn’t going to work” or even questions why do you want to change in the first place.
You even wonder, if what the books share are true, why isn’t this part of the larger picture.
You ask, “why aren’t more people talking about this!”
Now, the forward momentum starts grinding to a halt in the pendulum swing going back towards what you’ve known in order to keep you from growing.
