Shift with Trust

Dog training is as much about you as it is about your dog.

How can it not be.

You desire a different way of living life with your best friend, but didn’t know establishing a trusting and loving relationship with him was the essence of everything you did with your dog.

You “understand” how dogs emotionally experience the world, but you didn’t experience how this was going to stir things up in you too.

You persistence in unlearning old beliefs that dogs need to be controlled or dominated and you need to be the boss doesn’t resonate, but you’re left wondering, what does it look like now?

You get to create the new understanding, the new way of living life with your dog.

You also get the opportunity to grow and expand out of old patterns and into your truest self.

Our dogs are wonderful teachers, if we choose to be present with them, be curious and trust the choices you make to help your dog will be successful because you are now prioritizing your values.

The life you create with your dog is born out of your truth and understanding.

A wonderful woman who received some coaching support from me shared her biggest takeaways on her dog’s Tank’s birthday.

“I love just that…..the questions you ask really dig deep.

You’ve taught me, it’s not about “fixing” the dog or their behavior, but understanding how I feel in those moments and what is motivating the dog at those moments of challenge.

You’ve taught me to advocate for Tank and not to be apologetic for the pup he is.

The breathing technique and saying a prayer before walks with Tank. Still doing that.

You also helped when Tank was crazy with us outside…you advised utilizing what we did inside, outside. Having little stations for him.

I know that’s a lot to see…you helped us ALOT.” Y.G.

Your focus may be on your dog changing, but if you’re open and willing to see how you can grow with your dog, I’m curious to know what your life can look like with this new filter.

Happy Birthday Tank!

To know me is to know I love summertime fruit.

Berries, melons, stone fruits (even though I’ve recently become allergic to them, I still eat them lol) are all apart of my morning routine.

It’s the best.

Stone fruits like peaches, cherries and plums got me thinking.

The pit is the seed of the fruit which symbolizes regeneration and beginning of new life.

Abundance.

The pit of fruit signals an investment into the future.

Consider concepts like seed funding and seed capital which investors put money into a startup.

Investors see the potential for abundance through the opportunity someone or something is presenting that may not existed before in our world.

The same holds true in the nonprofit sector. Seed grants are awarded to organizations who are dedicated to innovation in their field.

People who are excited and inspired about potential for a new idea; the creativity of what is possible.

We even use the vernacular of “planting seeds” when we discuss sharing ideas and in teaching new concepts.

By planting the idea seeds, we are looking to inspire change.

We invest our time and energy in the person(s) to make the change because we believe in their capabilities and potential.

The PIT of the fruit is a analogy of how we invest in ourselves and in others.

We need Presence in understanding what’s at stake and the purpose of why something needs to change.

We are curious and Inquire about new information to make sense of how change will happen. We get curious about ourselves and others and in doing so, we feel inspired to move forward.

Trusting ourselves in making the investment for our own and others betterment is achieved through transparency of what is entailed and connection to ourselves.

PIT symbolizes growth and possibility.

Planting the pits and seeds of your dreams is the beginning of something you get to cultivate for yourself and inspire others to do the same.

What are you planting today?

From Problem to Possible

What if you believed there isn’t anything you need to fix about your dog or even yourself?

You believed your dog is whole and complete just like you are.

And

You believed what you get to learn alongside your dog with the freedom of exploration and experimentation was exactly what you wanted.

Mutual respect.

Growth.

Connection.

Taking the step in changing your perspective from problem focused to possible focused can allow you to open your heart and mind to the relationship with your dog is what truly matters.
